September 2019 Newsrail has a three articles related to The Overland, beautifully illustrated with some magnificent photographs from the collections of Geoff Winkler and Weston Langford.
- The Overdue Line: Norman Houghton describes a journey he took to Horsham in 1981 to record, before it was removed, the outdated and inadequate track and signalling infrastructure that could not manage the increasingly long train lengths of the 1980s, and had done much to earn The Overland its unfortunate nickname "The Overdue".
- Restoring Torrens: A brief overview of the extensive work being undertaken by Newport Railway Museum volunteers to restore the 1907 Overland sleeping car to its 1936 Larch Green livery.
- Alfred Hitchcock and The Overland: David Wood then shares his impressions of a recent journey on The Overland in its current guise, and thoughts on what its future may be.
